Step-by-Step Tutorial: Placing an Order on UEAT

✅ Step 1: Open the Ordering Page

  1. Open the link for you restaurant provided by UEAT in a web browser (Chrome, Edge, Safari, etc.).
  2. The page should load the restaurant’s ordering interface in French.
    1. You can change the language to your preference.
  3. You’ll typically see:
    • Restaurant name and branding at the top
    • Order type selection (ex: À emporter, Livraison, or Sur place)
    • A list of menu categories

✅ Step 2: Choose the Order Type

Depending on how UEAT is configured for this restaurant:

  1. Select Pickup (À emporter) or Delivery (Livraison) if prompted.
  2. If delivery is selected, you may need to:
    • Enter a delivery address
    • Confirm that the address is within the delivery zone

👉 If no choice appears, the order type may already be predefined.

✅ Step 3: Browse the Menu

  1. Scroll through the menu categories (e.g., Burgers, Pizzas, Combos, Drinks).
  2. Click on any item you want to order.
  3. Review the item details:
    • Description
    • Price
    • Photo (if available)

✅ Step 4: Customize the Item (If Applicable)

When you select an item:

  1. Choose options or modifiers, such as:
    • Size (Small / Medium / Large)
    • Extras (extra cheese, toppings, sauces)
    • Remove ingredients (no onions, no sauce, etc.)
  2. Adjust the quantity if needed.
  3. Click Ajouter au panier (Add to cart).

✅ The item will now appear in your cart (usually shown as an icon in the top corner).

✅ Step 5: Review the Cart

  1. Click on the cart icon (🛒).
  2. Review:
    • Items selected
    • Quantities
    • Customizations
    • Subtotal, taxes, and any delivery fees
  3. Make edits if needed:
    • Increase/decrease quantity
    • Remove items

When ready, click Commander or Passer à la caisse (Checkout).

At checkout, you’ll be asked for basic details:

  3. Phone number

✅ Step 8: Choose Payment Method

UEAT typically supports one or more of the following:

  • Credit / Debit Card
  • Online payment (Stripe-powered checkout)
  • In-person payment (if enabled by the restaurant)
  1. Select your payment method
  2. Enter payment details (if paying online)

🔒 Payment is handled securely via UEAT’s payment provider.

✅ Step 9: Place the Order

  1. Review everything one last time:
    • Items
    • Total amount
    • Address or pickup time
  2. Check any required boxes (e.g., terms and conditions).
  3. Click Commander maintenant or Confirmer la commande.

🎉 Your order is now placed!

✅ Step 10: Order Confirmation

After successful submission:

  • You’ll see an order confirmation screen
  • You should receive:
    • A confirmation email
    • Possibly an SMS (if enabled)
  • The restaurant receives the order instantly

🔧 Common Troubleshooting Tips

  • Menu not loading? Refresh the page or try another browser.
  • Can’t proceed to checkout? Make sure all required options are selected.
  • Payment failing? Double‑check card details or try another browser/device.
